When you are diagnosed with diabetes, you may have no idea what questions you should ask or who you can turn to. Columbus Community Hospital offers several resources and support options for people with diabetes. Recently, the hospital started a new class for the community.
Diabetes Tidbits is a free session offered from noon-1 p.m. every Thursday at the hospital. Diabetes educators lead the classes and provide expert advice about managing your health.
“It can be very overwhelming when you are diagnosed with diabetes,” said Joan Plummer, diabetes educator at the hospital. “It’s a lot to try to change at one time, so we encourage people to make gradual changes in their lifestyle.”
