A SafeSleep bed is needed for the Humphrey Public School special education department.
Superintendent Brice King brought the issue to the attention of the school board during the Dec. 11 meeting.
“We currently have students that are in need to rest during the day as part of their health plan as student exhaustion could cause additional medical issues,” King said. “With the SafeSleep bed purchase, the district would be able to claim 80 percent reimbursement on the purchase. We do have early childhood students in our district that we foresee also utilizing this SafeSleep bed in the future.”
