Every time St. Francis tried to rally, Nebraska Christian answered, and in the end the Eagles walked away with a 58-46 win here Dec. 19.
“To be honest they outplayed us in every aspect,” head coach Bryan Reichmuth said. “They worked harder than we did on defense, and it just snowballed on us. We still had a chance in the fourth quarter, and we tried to light a fire, but they had an answer for everything we did. I’m really disappointed, the girls are disappointed, but they beat us in every aspect tonight, and we have to figure out why.”
Nyla Kessler hit a 3-pointer to pull the Flyers within 43-29 with 4:38 left to play in the game, and the two teams traded baskets to put the Eagles lead at 47-41 with 3:38 to play, but Nebraska Christian slowly pulled away.
