While most hunkered down in their homes, crews — local and statewide — spent several days clearing snow from roads, streets and highways.
They were joined by property owners who spent several days digging out from the snowstorm, enduring sub-zero temperatures and wind chills that reached dangerous levels.
According to the National Weather Service in Valley, the Humphrey area received 8 inches of snow from Thursday evening into Saturday, which is on top of the 13 inches of snow its recorded Jan. 7-9 about 3 miles northeast of Platte Center.
