Caden Brandl hit five 3-pointers, and Owen Kurtenbach scored 25 to lead Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family to a 70-39 rout of Wisner-Pilger here Jan. 16.
Coming off a long winter’s break thanks to a pair of winter storms that dumped snow and cold in the area, the Bulldogs were seeing their first action since Jan. 2 “I don’t know if I pictured us shooting the ball that well,” head coach Joe Hesse said. “Caden had five 3’s, four in the second quarter, Owen got one to fall. Some of the things we talked about in the locker room was playing hard, playing with effort, playing with urgency, we can control that. I figure after two weeks off a lot of the other things would not look good. It was fun to see the team come out and look like we just had a couple days of practice.”
After taking a 17-10 lead after the first quarter, Brandl’s hot shooting led the Bulldogs to a 24-5 second quarter and a 41-15 halftime lead.
