The new school will be called Archangels Catholic High School, and its mascot will be the Defenders.
Archbishop George Lucas made the decision that was announced Friday afternoon by the Transition Team on the St. Francis and Lindsay Holy Family Parishes’ and websites.
In making the announcement he wrote, “I have received and reviewed the name and mascot recommendations from the Transition Team. Please share my gratitude for their collaborative work in service of the newly united school. I appreciate their efforts to gather community feedback on the name of the new central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School in Humphrey, and I was happy to extend the deadline to fully allow for that process to be completed and carefully considered.
