The Humphrey High speech team earned a runner-up finish at districts in Bancroft March 13. The Bulldogs had 15 finalists.
Kaylee Krings got sixth place in serious. Lia Whited placed 6th in poetry and 5th in humorous. Karley Vering finished 5th in poetry. Harley Goering finished 5th in entertainment. Abi Schneider placed 4th in POl and Alivia Schemek got 4th in extemp. The OID team of Karsen Jacobson, Miciah Mohrman, Colter Schneider, Cejay Dahlberg, and Xavier Rudnik finished 4th.
The state qualifiers are as follows: Nora Bertrand placed 3rd in entertainment; Noah Stone placed 3rd in humorous. Stone and Dahlberg finished 3rd in duet. Krings and Whited got 2nd in duet. Abi Schneider was the serious prose champion. Schemek was the informative champion. Ashley Pfeifer, Stone, Abi Schneider, and Schemek were champions in OID.
