Humphrey High 4th at state; Schemek 1st in informative

The Humphrey High speech team qualified eight students in seven events and had one unified speech participant in the state speech tournament held in Kearney March 21.

The Humphrey High speech team qualified eight students in seven events and had one unified speech participant in the state speech tournament held in Kearney March 21.

Katie Hogancamp presented her informative speech as a part of the Unified Speech Spotlight. Nora Bertrand placed 13th in the state in entertainment speaking. In duet acting, Lia Whited and Kaylee Krings finished 6th while Noah Stone and Cejay Dahlberg placed 5th. In humorous prose, finished 5th. In serious prose, Abi Schneider placed 4th. The Oral Interpretation of Drama group of, Schneider, Stone, Alivia Schemek and Ashley Pfeifer got 3rd place. In informative speaking, Schemek was the state champion.

The Humphrey team placed 4th in Class C-2. The NSAA speech season is officially over, but Schemek, Stone, Schneider, Dahlberg, Whited, and Krings all qualified to participate in the National Individual Event Tournament of Champions which will take place May 12-14 at Bellevue West.
