Eleanor S. Jaworski, 91, of Humphrey, Neb., was welcomed into heaven on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, after a brief stay in Columbus Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Saturday, April 6 at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, and Father Stan Schmit celebrated the Mass. Visitation was on Friday from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation continued Saturday from 9 a.m. until Mass time — all at the church. Interment was in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Tarnov, followed by a luncheon at St. Francis Social Hall. In lieu of flowers, plants, statues, etc., memorials are suggested to St. Michael’s Historical Society & Museum or St. Francis School. Eleanor was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Tarnov, Neb., to Stanley and Mary (Gourka) Paprocki. She attended St. Michael’s School and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1950. On Oct. 20, 1953, she married her sweetheart (kochanie), Raynold S. Jaworski, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Tarnov. They farmed near Tarnov until they moved to the outskirts of Humphrey in 1972.

Eleanor was a devoted farm wife, excelling in baking and gardening. She worked at Dale Electronics for 29 years, retiring in 1994. She was an original member of the St. Michael’s Historical Society and Museum in Tarnov. She spoke, read, wrote, sang, and translated Polish, corresponding with relatives in Tarnov, Poland, for many years. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Christian Mother’s Society, and volunteered at many local community organizations. She loved her “therapy,”, playing in several card clubs. Eleanor received the Good Neighbor of the Year award from the Omaha World Herald.
