At 105 years old, it’s time for the Creston swimming pool to get a facelift.
Community members came together to paint the pool and make improvements, and the oldest municipal pool in the state was painted for the first time.
“We had people volunteer to spend time doing the work, and more people showed up as we were working,” Dave Hollatz, of Creston, said. “We could have hired a company to do it, but we have people here who can help. It goes along with the thought the pool was built by volunteers, been maintained by a lot of volunteer help, and that’s what we’re doing with it now.”
