Some area village boards will have to appoint members to fill out vacancies.
The deadline passed Thursday for new candidates to file, and incumbents had until July 15, so three village boards lack enough candidates to fill out their respective boards.
Cornlea, Platte Center and Tarnov each have one candidate for two openings to serve 4-year terms.
