The heat, humidity and hills made for a trial by fire first trail for the Archangels cross country team.
Head coach Jonathan Krings said the difficulty of the course though didn’t stop the runners from trying their hardest and earning multiple personal bests and beating the previous course record for the team. The race took place at the Miletta Vineyard in St. Paul. The course featured steep hills and rugged terrain that proved to be challenging for everyone.
“The oncoming storms added to the difficulty with extra mugginess and increased heat,” he said. “The Defenders ran well though, with the majority of runners having personal bests on the course. Jaiden Anderson smashed the previous team record for the course (20:20) with a time of 18:41 garnering him 4th place.”
