Lindsay getting new emergency siren

Lindsay is getting a new fire/ tornado siren and pole on the north side of town, and it won’t cost the town.

Ken Kurtenbach, member of the Platte County 911 board and a Lindsay firefighter, told members of the Lindsay Village Board of Trustees during the Sept. 3 meeting the system will be paid by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

He said Ron Pfeifer and Jerry Endahl, members of the county ARPA committee, approved it and recommended it to the Platte County Board of Supervisors, which approved allocating the grant money for the siren system.
