Catholic tradition combined with newly established opportunities for prayer at Archangels One month ago, the school year 202425 began. After the first Mass of the school year on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, Father Stan Schmit led a Eucharistic Procession from the St. Francis Church Altar to the high school chapel, blessing the daycare, the St. Francis Elementary School, and all of the classrooms in the high school along the way. An Eucharistic Procession is a Catholic tradition dating back to the 13th century in Europe, and it is a way to give glory to Jesus, to proclaim faith, and to invite Jesus into daily life.
Jonathan Krings who teaches English/ Language arts classes for grades 7-9 is also responsible for organizing campus ministry activities at ACHS. He has instituted morning prayer in the chapel each day using the Liturgy of the Hours. This takes place at 7:30 each school day and members of the public are welcome to join.
On Monday mornings, revival prayer sessions will take place during the first 25 minutes of the school day. On most Mondays, the teachers will be the group leaders; but once each month, members of the community will act as revival group leaders coming into the school to pray with students while the faculty group with one another.
