The Archangel Defenders battled more than just the other teams at the District meet last Thursday at the Oakland Golf Course.
Runners competed not only with each other for a spot at State Cross Country but also the wind, with gusts up to 40 p.m.
The Defenders came away with one State qualifier in Jaiden Anderson, who said, “I’m really happy with how the season has gone, and I’m excited to run next Friday at Kearney.”
