Throughout the match, the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs showed their resolve. Unfortunately Hastings St. Cecilia had just enough to claim the Class C2-6 district final here Saturday, punching their ticket to state with a tough five set win, 25-19, 2325, 29-27, 23-25, 15-11.

“I think that’s what it came down to, we errored more than we typical do, we weren’t ready to respond when that happened, so that put us a little bit in our heads. It’s painful but I told them I’d rather go out in five (sets) than three, it shows you gave it your all, Bulldogs head coach Cami Oelsligle said.

Her team had numerous opportunties to win the third and fifth sets, but uncharacteristic errors popped up at the wrong time.
