A stout defense and determined running game carried the Archangels Defenders to a 38-0 win here Friday over Twin Loup in the second round of the Class D-2 state playoffs.
The Defenders, 10-0, host Howells-Dodge Friday at 7 p.m. It’s a rematch of the final week of the regular season when ACHS posted a 36-6 win.
Against the Wolves, the Defenders took the opening kickoff and used just four plays to get into the end zone, as Gavin Geilenkirchen raced the final 22 yards for the score, and Devon Baumgart added the conversion.
