A second half surge carried Archangels to the Goldenrod Conference title Saturday. The Defenders went on a 32-15 run to defeat Nebraska Christian 56-31 Saturday at Central Valley.
ACHS led throughout, taking a 14-6 lead after the first quarter, and the two teams played to a 10all draw in the second for a 24-16 Defenders lead.
The second half was a different story. Archangels took the third 15-11 to lead 43-27 lead heading to the fourth where the Defenders went on a 17-4 run to take the championship.
