Defense leads Bulldogs past E/PJ; fall to O-C

A defensive switch in the second half, and Humphrey-Lindsay’s usual second half surge propelled the Bulldogs to a 53-44 win over Elgin/Pope John here Thursday.

“We switched from 3-2 (zone) to 2-3, and I think we just got a little bit more active,” head coach Kandee Hanzel said. “I don’t know what it is, we cannot start a game like we finish a game. If just started that way we wouldn’t have to work so hard so finish.”

The Bulldogs trailed 12-10 after the first quarter and 25-20 at halftime, before going on a 20-7 run in the third to lead 4032 heading to the fourth quarter, where third did just enough — outscoring the Wolfpack 13-12 — to post their 15th win against 4 losses.
