St. Francis students step back in time during visit to Stuhr Museum

On March 27, third- and fourth-grade students from St. Francis School took a step back in time during a visit to the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island. The students spent the day immersed in the life of pioneers, gaining hands-on experience in the daily routines of early settlers.

As part of their adventure, students prepared their own meal, gathered and carried firewood for the stove, and pumped water for drinking and dishwashing — tasks that were once a necessary part of everyday life.

After a morning of hard work, they even found time to enjoy some traditional pioneer-era play.
