The Archangels girls rode eight first-place finishes March 31 to win the Humphrey Invitational Season Opener. The Defenders boys placed second, and the Humphrey-Lindsay girls and boys each placed third.
Two Defenders girls each won two events. Kali Jarosz crossed the finish line in the 400-meter run first in a time of 1:05.38, and she won the long jump with a mark of 16-2.5. Freshman Emily Stricken won the 1600-meter run in a time of 6:36.36, and the 3200-meter run in 14:15.77.
Also placing first for ACHS was Anna Stricken in the 800-meter run, the 4x100-meter rand 4x800-meter relay teams and Whitney Wegener won the discus with a throw of 108-10.
