Northeast Community College will hold special events featuring students on Thursday, May 4, and Sat. May 6.

The Drafting program will hold its 12th annual popsicle bridge competition at 2 p.m., at the Chuck M. Pohlman Agriculture Complex, 2301 E. Benjamin Ave., in Norfolk. The competition is designed to demonstrate the structural integrity and structural concentration of the bridges the students spend weeks and months constructing.

NECC will showcase the fine and performing arts with its annual Arts Expo beginning at 2:45 p.m. on Thursady, May 4, in the College’s Union 73 (building #25). Theatre design presentations and audio recording demonstrations will take place with student artwork and digital cinema projects on display. Student readings will be held with the unveiling of the 2023 edition of Voices Out of Nowhere. That evening, the College will hold opening night for the play Almost, Maine in the Cox Activities Center Theatre stage.
