The Archdiocese of Omaha continues to work to bring Humphrey St. Francis and Lindsay Holy Family together.
A press release from Archdiocese of Omaha Catholic Schools Superintendent Vickie Kauffold states the following: “Throughout our Journey of Faith process, our focus has remained on how to properly equip our schools for the future while ensuring they can excel at what they do best: helping our children learn about their world and learn the love of their Heavenly Father.
“In Humphrey and Lindsay, the decision to unite grades 7-12 from St. Francis and Holy Family builds on that mission and will help preserve the strongest possible future for Catholic education in northeast Platte County. To be clear, this is not a plan to close both schools and redirect families to Catholic schools elsewhere in the region. Instead, as Archbishop George Lucas mentioned in his letter, this is a plan to help ensure families in Humphrey and Lindsay can send their children to an excellent, affordable Catholic school with the best teachers despite a national teacher shortage. The Archdiocese is committed to a future where Catholic junior/ senior high school students from Lindsay and Humphrey are learning together in the same classrooms.
