Memorial Day

Heroes are the men and women who bravely serve this country.

That was the message Father Eric Olsen gave Monday morning during the Memorial Day Mass at Lindsay Holy Family Catholic Church, and the theme throughout the day as the area paused to honor veterans who put the country ahead of themselves.

When speaking about athletes being called heroes, Father Olsen said, “That always struck me as odd because ... it certainly does matter how great a victory you achieve on the playing field, it’s certainly nothing compared to what is achieved on a battlefield.”
