Michael Krainak III

Michael Krainak III passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, at home with his wife, Angie, and immediate family by his side. He was born in Omaha, July 2, 1969 to parents Mike Krainak Jr. and Linda Albracht. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Edmund and Arlene Albracht and Mike and Helen Krainak. He is survived by wife, Angie Champion, stepchildren Brendan VanRoy, Daniel and Anna Champion, his parents, stepmom Janet Farber, brother, Jonathan Krainak, sister, Sara Krainak (Joe Finelli) and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Michael was a stagehand and call steward for IATSE Local No. 42, in Omaha. In addition, he was a freelance videographer and camera operator for local and regional sports and entertainment. Prior to that, Michael was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves after graduating from Central High School. He then went on to graduate from UNO in 1994. His hobbies included collecting books and comics, family pets, supporting his step kids' sporting events, Nebraska and Creighton sports, fishing and hiking with family, and vacationing in the Caribbean and attending local comedy clubs with Angie. Above all, his favorite pastime was enjoying golf with extended family and friends locally--especially the view from the 12th tee box at Elmwood Golf Course--and during summers at the family cabin in Wisconsin. Michael was a loving husband, stepdad, son, brother and nephew, a loyal friend to many and a dedicated worker for his union.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held Friday, August 11, from 6-8 p.m. in the IATSE Union Hall at 5418 S. 27th St. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the family home at 4247 N 163rd Ave, Omaha, NE 68116 or to the Feline Friendz Organization.
