Haley Schrage grew up in Petersburg and graduated high school from O’Neill High School, followed by College of St. Mary’s, where she thought she was heading toward a nursing degree.
“I realized that wasn’t for me, and switched to teaching because growing up I always thought about being a teacher,” she said. “I don’t really know when my mind changed to nursing, but once I was in it, it wasn’t quite right for me.”
From college, Schrage, 32, was hired at St. Francis, and it’s been her home since.
