Cornhusker holds line on rates

Cornhusker Public Power District’s Board of Directors cast a unanimous vote at the January board meeting to keep electric rates steady for 2023.

Cornhusker Public Power District’s Board of Directors cast a unanimous vote at the January board meeting to keep electric rates steady for 2023.

Additionally, Cornhusker Public Power District Board of Directors agreed to utilize a production cost adjustment (PCA) credit. Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) announced they will return an estimated $34 million dollars to their wholesale power customers across the state with a PCA credit. Just as NPPD is providing Cornhusker Public Power District with a credit for each kilowatt hour (kWh) purchased, Cornhusker Public Power District will provide a credit to customers for each kWh they purchase.

This is the fourth consecutive year Cornhusker Public Power District has passed a PCA credit on to their customers. The PCA credit will be a line item on customers’ bills and will run from Feb. 1, 2023 through Jan. 31, 2024.
