Palestine School won’t be moved, renovated

Saving rural one-house school too costly

It looks like only the memories will survive.

Palestine School, which closed in 1964, will not be moved and renovated.

A meeting of members of the Platte County Historical Society (PCHS), area residents and members of the Ansgar Cemetery Board Jan. 14 determined it is too costly to preserve the oneroom schoolhouse.
