Humphrey FFA students learn what it’s like to harvest a crop with hands-on experience, local help
First harvest

The Humphrey FFA field had its first harvest Monday.

Robyn Graham, the FFA advisor, said the field was harvested with the help of Bill Classen, who operated the combine, and Ty Classen and Spencer Babel operated the grain cart and Central Valley Ag hauled the grain.

“A big thank you to all of them for helping make this harvest possible,” she said. “We harvested 15 acres today (Monday), and several students had an opportunity to ride in the combine if they haven’t ever done that and also in the grain cart. Freshman Garrett Behle came out and took pictures and video of harvest with his drone. Grain will be stored at CVA, and now students will have to make decisions on how and when to market the grain.”
