Uncharacteristic mistakes were too much for St. Francis to overcome Friday, as the Flyers dropped a 34-12 decision at Wynot in the Class D-2 quarterfinals.
A pair of errant snaps to punter Carson Wessel, resulted in short punts, plus turnovers, and that was a bad recipe for St. Francis.
Wynot won the first meeting of the season 14-6, and another tight game was expected.
