Bonnie E. Torczon
Bonnie, who served the City of Columbus, Neb., as a healthcare innovator for over 30 years, bringing home health care and social services to the community, as well as a Heart Association leader promoting CPR instructions across Eastern Nebraska, will be missed by all who knew her.
Bonnie spent her final days in the Echo Hills Memory Care unit in La Vista, Neb., to be closer to her daughter Karin. She will always be remembered for spirited card play and wonderfully prepared meals, among her many positive attributes.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Lawrence A. Bennett (Benicia, Calif.), Michael J. Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Karin E. Goodwin, (Omaha, Neb.), her brother, Helge Halvorson, Jr. (Yankton, S.D.), and their Spouses, as well as numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and further extended family in Nebraska, South Dakota, and many other states. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband Clarence M. Torczon (Platte Center, Neb.), her parents Helge and Florence Halvorson (Irene, S.D.) siblings Harold Halvorson (Viborg, S.D.), Olava Freeburg (Ft. Dodge, Iowa), Robert Halvorson (Wakonda, S.D.), Miriam Nelson

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Tarnov, Neb., with Fr. Stan Schmit celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 10 from 5-7: p.m. and continue Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. until Mass time, all at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Michael's Church, Columbus Community Hospital, or the American Heart Association.
