Daniel 'Dan' Beller

Daniel “Dan” Beller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 85.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Mesa, Ariz. Internment was in Queen of Peace Cemetery in Mesa, Ariz.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Church.

Dan was born on June 2, 1939, near St. Bernard, Neb., to Stanley and Clara Beller. Dan spent his early years working on the family farm beside his dad and brothers. At 17, he joined the Air Force, serving as an airplane mechanic.

Dan was united in marriage to Joyce Van Dyke in November of 1959. To this union, three children were born. After his career in the Air Force Dan and Joyce moved back to Fremont, Neb., and there they raised their children.

Then moving back to Arizona in 1985, Dan and his family embarked on a new career as a machinist for Honeywell.

Following the loss of his wife, Joyce Van Dyke, in 2000 he continued to reside in Arizona. In 2004, he married Susan Heidbrink.

Dan was a kind and generous soul who touched the lives of many. With a sense of peace and fulfillment, he returned to his heavenly Father. He will be

deeply missed by his family and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by Joyce; his parents; brothers, Ivan, Tommy and Joseph.

Dan is survived by his loving wife Susan and her family; daughter Cheri (Tom), of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter Cathie (Mark), of Omaha, Neb.; and Bill (Jyll), of California; a large and loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-inlaw Carlene (Ivan), of Norfolk, Neb.; sister Jane (Ken) Backes, of Humphrey, Neb.; brother Ron (Wanda), of Ottumwa, Iowa; and brother Randy (Susie), of Omaha, Neb.
