Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey was held on Thursday, Dec. 26 at 10:30 a.m., with Father Stan Schmit celebrating the Mass. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was on Thursday from 9 a.m. until Mass time at the church. Memorials are suggested to those of the family or donor's choice.

Stephen Wegener was born on Dec. 26, 1950, in Newman Grove, Neb., to Emmert and Rita (Wessel) Wegener. He attended Lindsay Holy Family Grade School and graduated in 1970 from Humphrey High School. Stephen worked at D & L in Columbus for 36 years. Because of health issues, Stephen has lived in a home in Columbus since 2006. He loved his nieces and nephews very much and could tell you when their birthday was. Stephen had a special interest in cars and loved watching the movies “The Fast & Furious.”

Stephen is survived by: Brother – Gerald (Loretta) Wegener of Lindsay, Neb.

Brother – Bob (Sue) Wegener of Lindsay, Neb.

Brother – Randy (Sharon) Wegener of Humphrey, Neb.

Brother – Mark (Sandy) Wegener of Humphrey, Neb.

Sister-in-law – Robin Wegener of Lindsay, Neb.
