Robert (Bob) J. Bruckner

Robert (Bob) J. Bruckner passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Neb.

OBITUARIES

A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at Duesman Funeral Chapel in Humphrey, and Father Stan Schmit officiated. Visitation was on Sunday, from 2-4 p.m., with a Rosary Service was at 4 p.m., all at Duesman Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Humphrey Rescue Unit or in care of the family.

Bob was born on Nov. 9, 1951, in Humphrey, Neb., to Joseph and Margaret (Simoneau) Bruckner. He graduated from Humphrey St. Francis in 1970.

Bob was raised on the family farm just east of Humphrey where he lived his entire life. Bob was the third generation to operate on that farm. Together with his dad, uncles and brothers, they grew a little bit of everything and raised cows, bottle calves and hogs. Bob and his brother Jim were inseparable until Jim passed away in 2010. Where there was one, there was always the other. Bob worked for the Humphrey Township operating the road grader for 17 years. After retiring, he enjoyed visiting with family, friends and neighbors. The door was always open and he never knew a stranger. He enjoyed eating breakfast at Stack and Steak with his sisters and was a relentless joker with his niece and nephews. We fondly remember his favorites being blonde jokes or Little Johnny. We remember him being a practical joker, the fishing trips, the drives around the county but always stopping for refreshments at Klub 81 first, prime rib dinners in Creston, donuts on Saturday Robert (Bob) J. Bruckner

morning visits, all the Schwan’s ice cream treats mom would allow and the stories he loved to tell ... that may have been a bit stretched but were always good ones. His boisterous laugh filled the room and will never be forgotten. He also enjoyed all the great nieces and nephews and made sure every Christmas they had gifts to open. He had the kindest heart and will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his sisters, Dianne Bruckner of Humphrey, Carol Micek of Shelby and Cindy Lueschen of Humphrey, niece Crystal (Ken) Zimmerman, nephews, Milton Lueschen, Craig (Tara) Micek, Curt (Susan) Micek, Cory (Sara) Micek, Michael Bruckner and great nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Jim and Ray, his parents, brother in laws Ron Micek and Milton Lueschen Sr.
