Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey on Friday, Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Stan Schmit celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Wilson – St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Clarkson, Neb., with military honors by the American Legion Hartman Post 84.
Duane Lester Sander was born on Oct. 15, 1935, at home in Creston, Neb., to Harvey and Lottie (Loseke) Sander. He graduated from Creston High School and later served in the National Guard. On June 15, 1960, Duane was united in marriage to Margaret Oborny at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Wilson Township. The couple farmed for 16 years and Duane later worked at Madison Foods in refrigeration maintenance.
Duane enjoyed ballroom dancing, square dancing, and fishing. Most of all he loved time with his grandchildren, playing cards and other games, watching movies, and going to the park with them. Duane always had a smile on his face, was positive, loving, caring, and happy to see everybody.

Daughter: Becky (Fren) Mata of Blair, Neb.
Daughter: Jackie Sander (special friend Adam Cavalli) of Humphrey, Neb.
Son: Chad Sander (special friend Diane Henke) of Columbus, Neb.
