Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is on Wednesday from 4-6 pm with a 6:00 pm Vigil service, all at St. Isidore Church. Interment is in All Saints Cemetery.
Helen Ann Zach was born August 21, 1930, to Carl and Margaret (Heinen) Lewis in Humphrey. She grew up in Humphrey and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School. After high school, she attended the Norfolk School of Cosmetology. Helen and her twin sister owned and operated a beauty shop in Humphrey for several years. On March 13, 1952, Helen was united in marriage to Elmer Zach at St. Francis Church in Humphrey. The couple farmed near Humphrey for 30 years. Helen helped and supported her own children and neighbors in various 4H programs over the years. She was also an active member with Christian Mothers at St. Francis Church. Helen was an artist and enjoyed painting pictures for all her friends and especially loved to go fishing with her twin sister Sue Hastreiter.
Helen is survived by: Husband: Elmer Zach of Seward Daughter: Annette (Butch Osten) Bender of Newman Grove Son: Paul (Andrea) Zach of Eau Claire, WI.
