Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, June 20. Visitation was on Monday, June 19, from 5-7 p.m., followed by a vigil at 7 p.m.. Visitation resumed on Tuesday, June 20, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. A Christian Mothers Rosary was held on Monday, June 19, at 4:30 p.m.. All services were at Saint Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, Neb. Interment was at the Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass. Memorials may be directed to Humphrey Right to Life.
Bonita “Bonnie” Jean Ramaekers was born November 20, 1946, in Humphrey, Neb., to William and Angela (Borer) Stenger. She grew up on a farmstead north of Lindsay and graduated from Lindsay Holy Family High School in 1964. Bonnie married Paul Ramaekers of Humphrey on June 21, 1969, at Holy Family Parish in Lindsay. Paul and Bonnie made their home on a farmstead near Cornlea, Neb., where they farmed and raised their nine children.
Bonnie was very active in the community and the St. Francis Parish. Donating her time and talents to numerous groups, committees, and community causes. She was particularly passionate with her involvement with the Humphrey Right to Life and the plight of the unborn.
Bonnie was an amazing mother and wife. She spent countless hours cooking, baking, sewing, and raising her children. Her devotion to her faith, marriage, and family guided her through life.
Preceding Bonnie in death are her daughter, Brenda, her parents, four sisters Mary Jane, Jacqueline, Madonna, Mary Jo, and three brothers Richard, Adrian, and William.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Paul Ramaekers of Humphrey; daughter Kimberly (Terry) Patzel of Lincoln; son Brian of Columbus; son Jamie (Michelle) of Lincoln; daughter Janine (Scott) Strunc of Omaha; son Steven (Jill) of Columbus; son Kurt (Jenny) of Lincoln; son Michael (Natalie) of Humphrey; son Mark of Lincoln; 26 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, three sisters, Kathleen (Gary) Boettcher, Janice (Gene) Engelbert, Diane (Bill) Tworek, two brothers, Glenn (Dee) Stenger and Daniel (Carolynne) Stenger.
