A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Albion, Neb., with Father Mark Tomasiewicz and Deacon Paul Weeder officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, Neb. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church with a 7 p.m. wake service.

Richard Rudolph Sueper Richard “Dick” Rudolph Sueper, the first of 13 children of Edward and Marjorie (Melcher) Sueper was born on August 7, 1940, at the family home in St. Bernard, Neb. He was baptized on Aug. 8, 1940, at his home parish St. Bernard Catholic Church, and later confirmed on Oct. 25, 1951. Dick attended St. Bernard School, then graduated from Humphrey High School in 1958. In 1959 Dick enlisted in the National Guard for 3 years.
On September 19, 1964, Dick was united in marriage to Audrey Marie Thiem at St. John’s Catholic Church in Howells, Neb. The couple lived and farmed near St. Bernard, Neb. They were members of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served on many committees and was a choir member throughout their time there. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Dick was a member and also served as president for the Lindsay Co-op Board.
In 2005 the couple moved to Albion became members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where Dick continued his singing in the choir and continuing his active membership in the Knights of Columbus. Dick and Audrey were active members and contributors at the Albion Senior Center, Albion, Nebraska. As a child and young man Dick loved working on the family

farm with his father, he continued his love for the farm his whole life. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and traveling with Audrey to Japan, Germany, Colorado, the Black Hills, Hawaii, Mexico, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, and many other places with good friends. Dick had a heart of gold, and he would help out anyone in need.
Dick is survived by his five children: Linda (Daniel) Frauendorfer of Lindsay, Neb.: Sue (Terry) Beckman of Norfolk, Neb.: Laurie (Scott) Hunt of Aurora, Neb.; Joan Beardsley of Minot, N.D.; Joe (Leila) Sueper of Parker, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Janie (Marvin) Classen of Humphrey, Neb.: Marlene (Ralph) Weeder of Lindsay, NE; Eileen (Alan) Widhalm of Waverly, Neb.: Doris (Richard) Miller of Columbus, NE; Eugene (Shirley) Sueper of Lindsay, Neb.; Gerri (Lonnie) Mostek of Lincoln, Neb.; Bernadine (Terry) Priester of Humphrey, Neb.; Evelyn (Richard) Hemmer of Humphrey, Neb.; Diane (Rick) Larson of Columbus, Neb.; Melvin (Karen) Sueper of Humphrey, Neb.; Catherine (Don) Gronenthal of Omaha, Neb.; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Audrey, son David, infant sister Alice; brother Larry and Martha Sueper, sisterin- law Doris and Dell Schultz, niece Jacque Larson, and nephew Robert Weeder.
