Betty Korth, age 88, of Columbus, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 at Meridian Gardens.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Norbert A. “Norb” Widhalm, 79, of Norfolk, Neb., will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, with a 7 p.m. rosary, also at the church. Following a luncheon at St. Mary’s Parish Hall on Saturday, burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey. Military rites will be conducted in the church parking lot by the American Legion Post 16, V.F.W. Post 1644, and the United States Air Force Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. The service will be live-streamed on the Stonacek Funeral Chapel Facebook page. Norbert, one of the best-loved sons, husband, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at his home Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, following a brief battle with an aggressive brain tumor. He will be terribly missed by all who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing him.

Donald “Don” Ternus, 79, of Creston, Neb., died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023 at Arbor Care Centers Countryside in Madison, Neb.

Leonard Vincent Hassenstab, age 96, was born on Jan. 22, 1927, to George and Julia (Zach) Hassenstab and passed away on Jan. 27, 2023.

Art Olmer, 92, of Humphrey, Neb., died Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society-Grand Island Village, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Funeral service for James L. “Jim” Reichmuth, 85, of Norfolk was held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk.

Norma Aikins, age 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at Emerald Care and Rehab.

Mary Catherine Beller, 84, of Columbus, Neb., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus, Neb.

Richard Zuerlein, 68, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Columbus, Neb., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, in Lincoln, surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer.

Dorothy Ditter, 85, of Columbus, Neb., died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Today, a slightly nervous young woman is going to walk into a classroom of faces looking back at her, wondering who she is and what’s she doing in their class.

Helen Zach age 92, died Saturday, December 31 at Kinship Pointe in Seward.
