Two suspects in a high-speed car chase remain incarcerated in the Platte County Detention Center in Columbus.

The ordinance setting new water, sewer and garbage rates and the effective date will be taken up by the Humphrey City Council Monday, Nov. 20.

Firefighters went through training recently on vehicle extrication in the parking lot of the Humphrey Community Center. Firefighters Cade Bahlen (left), from the Creston Volunteer Fire Department, and Craig Engle and James Droescher took part in the training.

Paige Nolan earned a special recognition Nov. 4 at the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Ind.

The fourth annual fall fruit decorating contest was held at Saint Francis. The tradition of decorating fall fruits started in October 2020 as an activity put on by the journalism class. The idea was originally brought up by Taylor Wemhoff, a class of 2020 graduate of Saint Francis.

The annual Creston Fall Dinner & Expo was the place to be Sunday. The meal of turkey, ham and hotdogs and all the fixings drew a large crowd the Creston Community Center. The museum also was open for people to take a trip back in time. Proceeds from the event go toward the pool, park improvements, East, Christmas and 4th of July activities.
